"This We Believe", developed by the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, began in February 2009 with a series of neighborhood meetings offering the citizens of Philadelphia an opportunity to voice what they believe about their city.  Two teams of artists then translated these stories into designs that were put to a city-wide vote in May 2009.  The winning design was created by artists Kien Nguyen, Eric Okdeh and Michelle Ortiz.  Throughout the summer of 2009, over 500 residents helped paint this extraordinary work of art. 

We invite you to visit The Gallery where the mural is on display now through June 2010 on Street Level at the Ninth Street entrance.   Following its removal, the mural  will be divided into seven sections and distributed to permanent locations throughout the city.
